- Peer sessions are free. Exponent’s wider subscription price could not be verified — its pricing page returns 404 and the upgrade page renders no figures to a fetch.
- Best for
- The first ten hours of speaking your reasoning out loud, which is a skill entirely separate from knowing the answer.
- Not for
- Accurate feedback. Your partner is another candidate, so their assessment of your system design is worth roughly what yours is of theirs, and no-shows are a known feature of free peer matching.
- From India
- Free, so no currency problem. Matching is global, which in practice means slot availability depends on when you are online rather than where you are.
- Worth knowing
- Pramp did not shut down when Exponent absorbed it — pramp.com still resolves and explains the move, and sessions now run inside Exponent Practice. Old links from prep sheets still work, which is rarer than it should be.

- USD pricing with no India tier. Sessions are anonymous by design, which removes accent and name bias from the feedback — a genuine advantage if that has been a worry.
- Worth knowing
- The anonymity is structural, not cosmetic: audio and chat only, no video, in a shared editor. Combined with a stated full refund if you are unhappy with the interview, it is the least risky paid option here.

- Not for
- Anyone who wants to know the cost up front. There is no flat price list, so you have to browse coach profiles to find out what your particular session will cost.

- USD pricing. Its coach pool spans 1,600+ companies, so Indian-market coverage depends on which company you are targeting rather than on where you are.
- Worth knowing
- It publishes hard numbers about its own supply — 1,903 verified coaches, 19,000+ completed sessions — rather than the usual vague reassurance. That makes it checkable.

- No platform price is published for someone booking a session — the cost is whatever the individual expert charges. The site reports 1mn+ professionals and 100k+ reviews.
- Best for
- Booking a specific named person at a specific named Indian company, which the structured platforms cannot do.
- Not for
- Consistency. There is no vetting standard behind a listing, so quality ranges from excellent to a stranger reading your CV back to you, and you are relying on reviews to tell them apart.
- From India
- The expert pool skews heavily Indian, which is the main reason to use it over interviewing.io. Note that the company address listed on the site is in San Francisco, not India.
- Worth knowing
- Because experts set their own prices, the range is enormous — you can find sessions at a fraction of interviewing.io’s $179 floor, from people currently working at the company you are applying to.

- Anyone who intends to use the live assistant as advertised. It is marketed as invisible and undetectable during real interviews across Zoom, Meet, Teams, LeetCode and HackerRank — that is cheating in a job interview, it is increasingly detected, and being caught ends the process and usually the relationship with the company.

- Worth knowing
- The desktop app activates automatically when it detects a meeting. We are listing that as the standout feature because it is the clearest possible statement of what the product is actually for.

What we checked
- — Every platform was opened, along with its pricing and FAQ pages, on the date shown against the entry.
- — The distinction we care about most — peer, AI, or a paid human who has really interviewed for the role — was taken from the vendor’s own description of the session, not inferred from the marketing.
- — Prices are transcribed exactly, in the vendor’s currency. Several of these sites render pricing in JavaScript and show a plain fetch nothing; where that happened we say the price is unverified rather than repeating a review site’s number.
- — We did not book or pay for any session, so nothing here is a review of interviewer quality. It is a comparison of what each platform sells and what it costs.
What we could not verify
- — Exponent’s subscription price. Its /pricing path returns 404 and the upgrade page renders figures client-side, so we could not read a number off the site across three attempts.
- — Final Round AI above the entry price. Its homepage states plans start at $25 per month; the pricing page itself renders no figures to a fetch, so the higher tiers are unverified.
- — IGotAnOffer is missing from this list because igotanoffer.com returned HTTP 403 or a reset connection on four separate attempts. Its help centre did load and describes coaching priced in credits — 2 to 5 credits per one-hour session — but never states what a credit costs.
- — Google Interview Warmup is also missing. All three of its known URLs still return HTTP 200, but none of them describes the tool any more; they now carry generic interview advice pointing at Gemini Live. We could not fetch anything saying it was retired, so we are reporting what we saw rather than announcing its death.
- — Meetapro and Preplaced publish no session price at all, so you cannot compare either against the rest without going into the funnel.

Are free mock interviews any good?
For the first problem, yes — free peer swaps on Exponent Practice fix the gap between knowing an answer and being able to say it while someone watches, and that gap closes in about three sessions. What free peer feedback cannot give you is an accurate read on your level, because the person judging you is at roughly your level too.
How much does a mock interview with a real interviewer cost?
interviewing.io starts at $179 a session and does not publish a ceiling. Prepfully sessions run roughly $50 to $300, averaging about $150, set by each coach. Preplaced and Meetapro publish no price at all. In rupee terms the paid options here land somewhere between roughly ₹4,000 and ₹25,000 an hour depending on the coach and the day’s exchange rate.
Is an AI mock interview worth doing?
For repetition, yes, and it costs nothing on several platforms including ours. Its limit is structural rather than technical: an AI accepts a mediocre answer and moves on, where a human interviewer follows up on the shaky part, which is where the actual learning happens. Use AI for reps and a human for diagnosis.
Which mock interview platform is best for Indian candidates?
Topmate if you want a named practitioner at a specific Indian company, because its expert pool is heavily Indian and prices are set individually rather than in dollars. Preplaced if you want months of mentorship with a free trial session. For non-technical roles, most of the international platforms have nothing at all — that gap is why our own free tool covers 144 roles rather than a dozen.
Is Final Round AI’s interview assistant allowed?
No. Using a real-time assistant to answer questions during a live interview is cheating regardless of how it is marketed, detection is improving, and the outcome when it is spotted is a withdrawn offer. Its mock interview practice is a normal product; the live assistant is not, and we would not recommend that anyone use it.
What happened to Pramp and Google Interview Warmup?
Pramp is alive — pramp.com still resolves, explains that sessions moved to Exponent Practice, and remains free. Google Interview Warmup appears to be gone: all three of its known URLs still return HTTP 200, but none of them describes the tool any more, and the pages now point at Gemini Live instead. We could not find an official retirement notice to fetch.
