Can IBPS Clerk candidates apply for more than one state?
IBPS recruitment is conducted on a State/UT-wise basis, so a candidate can apply for clerical vacancies in only one State or Union Territory per recruitment cycle. The chosen State also determines the exam centre and the local language a candidate must be proficient in for the qualifying language test.
Is there negative marking in IBPS Clerk?
IBPS deducts one-fourth, or 0.25, of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer in both the Preliminary and Main objective tests, while leaving a question blank draws no penalty. This deduction applies uniformly across all sections of the online examination, so guessing carries a real risk to the overall score.
Who is exempt from the IBPS Clerk local language test?
IBPS waives the Local Language Proficiency Test for candidates who submit a 10th standard or higher mark sheet showing they studied the specified opted local language as a subject in school. Everyone else who is provisionally selected must clear this qualifying test after the Main Examination but before joining the allotted bank.
How many sections does the IBPS Clerk Main Examination have?
