Can SBI Clerk candidates apply for more than one state?
SBI applications are restricted to one State or Union Territory per recruitment cycle, and the merit list, category-wise results, and eventual posting are all drawn state-wise. A candidate can appear for the test only once within a single recruitment project, so there is no option to apply against multiple states in the same cycle.
Is there negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam?
SBI deducts one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer in the objective sections of both the Preliminary and Main Examinations, while an unattempted question is not penalised. This rule applies uniformly across English, numerical ability, reasoning, and the other objective sections in the Main Examination.
What is the probation period for SBI Clerk after joining?
SBI recruits serve a minimum probation period of six months as Junior Associates, during which they must complete prescribed e-lessons to be confirmed in service. If performance during probation does not meet the bank's expectations, or the required e-lessons are incomplete, the probation period is extended until the conditions are satisfied.
Does the SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination score count toward final selection?
SBI treats the Preliminary Examination purely as a shortlisting round; its marks are not added to the final merit list. Only the aggregate score from the Main Examination decides provisional selection, so candidates who clear prelims must still perform well in the Main Examination to be ranked for a seat.
Can a Junior Associate transfer to another circle after joining SBI Clerk?
SBI offers no general provision for inter-circle or inter-state transfer for newly recruited Junior Associates.
