About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Biotech Investment Analyst with a specialist-fund background to support expert evaluation work focused on commercial drugs and drug-development programs.
You will assess biotech companies and drug assets from an investment perspective, evaluating clinical data, mechanisms, competitive positioning, value drivers, and the overall strength of investment theses.
The engagement begins with a short paid pilot, with potential for recurring work as the project expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and critique rubrics for evaluating commercial drugs and drug-development programs.
- Assess companies and drug assets across: Mechanism of action
- Clinical data
- Competitive position
- Key value drivers
- Evaluate the strength and quality of investment-style theses.
- Identify weak, overconfident, unsupported, or missing assumptions.
- Conduct end-to-end assessments of assigned biotech companies and their drug assets.
- Apply your investment expertise across approximately 5–10 companies during the pilot.
Requirements
- US-based biotech or healthcare investment analyst with specialist-fund experience.
- 5+ years of experience evaluating biotech or pharmaceutical companies and/or drug assets.
- Strong familiarity with biotech and pharmaceutical development programs.
- Demonstrated ability to assess drug assets and the companies behind them from an investment perspective.
- Strong understanding of clinical development, competitive positioning, and biotech value drivers.
- Ability to critically evaluate investment assumptions and theses.
